Here’s something you may not know about sharks: they have really interesting eyes. Shark corneas have special reinforcing fibers that work like “rebar” in concrete. These fibers strengthen the cornea and prevent it from swelling and turning cloudy, like human corneas can do.

Welcome to fall allergy season. Weed pollen levels are officially “High” in the Boston Metrowest as of yesterday. For many people, allergy season means itchy, irritated eyes. If you suffer from allergies, there are a couple of things you can do:

On Tuesday, May 7, we will be offering Free Vision Screenings for preschool-age children (ages 2-1/2 to 5) at Jam Time in Maynard, MA. Screenings will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. There’s no need for appointments – just sign up at the door, and your children can play while they wait. Please note that while the screenings are free, you will still need to purchase admission to Jam Time.
